This September, DuMouchelles is honored to present the personal collection of Thomas W. Brunk of Indian Village, Michigan, a remarkable collection shaped by a lifelong dedication to preserving and understanding Detroit’s history.

Brunk was a respected scholar, archivist, and former board member of Pewabic Pottery, as well as a passionate collector of objects reflecting Detroit’s artistic and cultural heritage. His personal collection reflects a lifelong interest in the city’s history. Highlights include a substantial group of historic Pewabic Pottery, including early works by Mary Chase Perry Stratton, as well as works connected to Charles Lang Freer, the Detroit-born industrialist, art collector, and founder of the Freer Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

We are honored to bring this exceptional collection to auction and help carry its story forward to new collectors, historians, and admirers of Detroit history.
