CLARKE'S PATENT FAIRY LAMPS BURMESE GLASS FAIRY LAMPS (6) BURMESE CONE VASE, ON ORIGINAL CLARKE'S VICTORIAN PERIOD MIRROR BACKED SCONCE 1870 H 26"
Clear glass bases Dia. 4" all have molded "Clarke's Trademark Cricklite". Burmese lamps H 4" plus glass bases. Arranged for display against a mirror ground with brass arms 26" x 26". From an Arbor Court, Bloomfield Hills estate.
All fairy lamps and bases are in good condition with no chips, no fleabites. This is an absolutely original "Clarke's Patent Fairy Lamps" sconce. The arm branch on the right (facing) has an original impressed "Clarke's Patent Fairy Lamps" fitting. Original Victorian three part gold highlighted leaf and bird design cut and painted into the verso. Glass panels over the original Victorian red velvet (and it has the natural losses in all the right places to show it is untouched). The verso appears to be leather. with the attached arms with original fittings. Photographs will show that the backing has been cut around the mirror. There is a good chance that at one time the mirror was replaced. We have not (and likely will not) attempted to remove the mirror backing to make a determination as to the age of the mirror back.
